Nisantasi is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Istanbul. It's in the european side of Istanbul.

The columns look a bit like some Persian columns.

Nope Hellios. I just wanted to show you some regions of Istanbul. Nisantasi is so lively district, but not my type.
I have had very special memories in this district:

The new concrete building really look horrible I wish they'd knock it all down and build upon the existing style.

Why don't they keep to a building plan, a certain style which every building must conform to, concrete is so horrible, it should be made illegal in the "mediterranean", unfortunately its spread across the region being nothing but an eye-sore.

Unfortunately, there has always been a city planning problem in Istanbul.

Istanbul is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, I don't understand how they allow such concrete monstocities to be constructed, the architects of such buildings should have their liscences taken away and banished from touching a building again.
However, recently around SultanAhmet district it has started looking alot better, there are restorations, ugly buildings are being removed, Gulhane park is back.
I think they should shut the whole square to traffic.
Istanbul will be culture capitol in 2010, I hope it benefits this great city.
