You never heard of him?
 
While the German basketball team, with it's superstar Nowitzky, is recently prepearing for the Olympic basketball tournament at Bejing, the German Basketball Federation announced, that the Clipper's center ( 2,13 m/ PPG 15,7 RPG 12,7 last Season) was naturalized. Someone found out that his great-grandparents once immigrated from Germany.
 
I think there must be several players in the NBA that will have ancestors, which immigrated to America in the 19th century. Let's have an examination and Germany will be the next Dream Team.
 
See-what-happened to Kaman.

Chris Kaman is a great player.  He played college ball in Central Michigan State University which is only a couple of hours away from where I live.  Wow, Kaman and Nowitzki together would be really good inside and outside big men combo.  I think Germany has pretty good shot at the silver medal.  Watch out for Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, and maybe China with healthy Yao Ming and home cooking.  And then there are Puerto Rico, Russia, Lithuania, Croatia, etc.  I don't know who all made through the qualifications though. 
 
As far as what-happened to Kaman, I guess he's gotta learn to protect the ball better?  LOL

I think he'll do well playing for Germany - it'll relieve Dirk of some of the star/inside burden. I still don't really see them getting past some of the more potent teams (Spain, Argentina, USA)

Agreed, but why not let him play?  I think U.S will have one of the best Dream Team, may be only second to the Original Dream Team.  Paul, Wade, Kobe, LeBron, Anthony, Boozer, Bosh, Howard(where is KG and Duncan?) with coach K?  Come on, it's not even gonna be close.  Other than maybe Nowitzki, Yao Ming, Parker, Ginobili, Gasol, no other foreign players can really compete with these players. 
 
If more second rate NBA stars can play for other countries it will increase the quality, competition, interest and marketing.  It's all good for the game.  More NBA star quality players in the Olympic competition.  What's wrong with that?  I just wanna see better games.  Kaman is a great player, All Star level now.  But he's not good enough for the U.S. team anyway, though he might get there someday.   
 
But if Kobe wanted to play for France or Italy, that would be a big issue.  But we all know that's not gonna happen.  Ewing and Hakim could have played for Jamaica and Nigeria.  They all ended up playing for U.S.  Getting enough talents is never U.S.' problem.   It's more to do with celebrity lifestyle mentality, international rules, and general complacency.

Yep Kang, it's been a good year for Kaysaar's teams Wink

The only thing that could have made this year perfect would have had to be a major trophy for my Barça, but when the Red Sox, Celtics, and Spain all enjoy championships, I really can't complain.

The German team won it's second match at the qualifying tournament in Athens today agaist the Kiwis with a score of 89:71.

They will face in quarterfinal Brazil or Greece tomorrow.
