Hey, Hmongshaman , are you of the miao ethnic? Thanks for your introduction of the miao.If not you, i would still can't differ them from Yizu (ͣ. In my own , the muslin Hui and Han-jewrish had always been attracting my sights most. Do you have some information about them? |

Yes, I am from the Miao ethnic...im Hmong, Miao who are from southeast asia are considered to be called Hmong and Hmong that are in China, are considered to be called as Miao.... Yes, Miao clothing is similar to all other ethnic races in China...sometime I even get confuse whether other Chinese ethnic are Hmong or not... Miao culture attract me alot, because there are different type of Miao, languages, but one thing that we all have in similar is the lusheng or reed pipe and the same traditional... that is why i could distinguish the different between other chinese ethnics and miao... Three Main branches, the Qiangdong, Xiangxi, and Western Hmongic... Western Hmongic have alots of different types of Hmong.. I am a Farwestern Hmong.. I am a White Hmong....but my Dad says that we was once the Black Hmong, so I dont know what types of Hmong I am.... very interesting... |

 In China, these are the Miao people I am, but due to a lots of running and migration... today, the White Miao in China wore black and white clothes...so it changes alot... I can understand these white miao language about 75%.... so, these Miao are more related to the white hmong today in southeast asia....

You do know that the Hmong were forced in a nomadic diaspora into the
realms of South East Asia right? There are thousands upon thousands of
Hmong that live in the mountains of Vietnam and in the valleys of
present day Laos. The Hmong actually fought with Royalist Lao
government against the communist LaoPDR, which ousted the royalists
from power. Hmong were under great retribution from the vietnamese and
laoPDR; thousands were taken by the US as refugees and continue to do
so right now. My country, Thailand, actually took thousands of Hmong
refugees as an act of humanitarianism since so many of them were being
executed because they were a 'minority' group in Laos and Vietnam.
It is very sad...very sad.. However, thank you for allowing us to see the beautiful pictures and the simply breathless regalia of the Hmong people!  Edited by King Chulalongkorn |
