And Heyerdahl who was an European, actually proposed that native Americans went to Polynesia (eventhough he also claimed that Egyptians travelled to America).

Heyerdahl was wrong in almost everything he proposed. His theory about Peruvians in Easter Island is balooney, as it is the design of his "egyptian" ships to cross the Atlantic LOL
In the only thing he contributed to science was in the design of the balsa rafts ancient mantenos used to trade from Peru to Mexico. That was an interesting contribution. The rest is no more than a clase-B report for yellow magazines.

Yes ignorants exists everywhere, both in the Old and New World. And many people like those kind of stories since they think it´s exciting to think about fantastic voyages over the oceans in ancient times and similar. And since many like those kind of topics it´s also a rewarding business to sell books and articles with such stories.

Of course. And nobody cares about the racist ideologies that those fantasies spread. For instance, the bad meaning idea that native americans didn't create theirs own civilizations.
