Saraci Street is a typical
Balkan street. Lined on both sides with red-tiled Ottoman shops, it
winds its way through the heart of Sarajevo's old city before,
suddenly, it turns into
Ferhadija Street.

buildings begin. There is no transition from one to the other, just a
solid break between them.
Sarajevans refer to it as the place where, literally, East meets West.
