Dissapointed that the Delhi sultanate Song.Yuan.Ming armies and Tamerlames armies are not included |
Unfortunately, MTW2's campaign map will cover the exact same area covered by RTW's...
On the plus side, it has been announced that there might be 30 factions, instead of 21.
We have been looking at this recently and I should have an answer in the coming weeks. We are looking to increase the hard-coded limitations to atleast 30 if it doesn't cause too much problem with the game.

I've somewhat convinced myself that frills and noveltys will take priority over gameplay and balancing yet again, i'd of given up night battles, hordes and rebellions in BI for a game which gripped me like MTW did.
MTW didnt need state of the art graphics and stunning attention to detail to keep me addicted for years on end, RTW had the potential to be incredible, possibly even the greatest game for many a year, but failed quite spectacularly. I see little reason why MTW2 for all its cool screenshots will be much different. Lets remember here that the pics we see are almost always of extreme circumstances the player will never actually experience in-game.
I mean how often do you have enormous night-battles filled with drama and excitement like the intro to BI displays? i've yet to have even 1 night battle, nevermind like what it shows in the intro.
Remember the intro to RTW? how cool did it look when you saw hundreds of legionary cavalry charge out of the woods into thousands of Gallic infantry? i'd be amazed if anybody had had a battle even half as dramatic as that, nevermind had a PC able to play it.
Yeah yeah im being pessimistic but I expect something good for my 39,95, i'm pretty pissed off at being so badly letdown by RTW and BI.
I seriously hope i'm wrong, it is very early for me to level such scathing criticism on a game that is far from being out, but the 2 previous installments have left me with little confidence.

yeah, i would be surprised if this game sells even above average, even fans of RTW mostly feel dissapointed about the graphics-rulez/zero-innvoations policy of MTW2.

Wow, with at least another 9 factions, they should be able to fit in the Bohemians and Russians. I am pessimistic, as Heraclius is, on the Total War series because the original game is never that good. It is filled with historical bullcrap and some very stupid things. They play up the intro and screenshots to a hilt, yet the actual game is nowhere close to as good as it is played up to be.

I heard about that from Rise of Nations for the Indian faction. I heard one mod for Rome Total War had elephant chariots.

I know smaller guns were mounted on Camels, but never heard of elephants, but it could be possible.

Alot of things they need to sort out to make a decent SP mode to be honest, if the same problems persist that plague RTW then trying to get together a MP campaign is pointless and much needed time taken away from making the SP game actually playable.

One of the biggest letdowns with RTW and MTW was the fact that you could only have multiplayer battles, and not a full multiplayer campaign. Such a thing would require alot of work, but would provide endless hours of fun. Only problem with it would be that you need to set aside heaps of hours to ensure that everyone got a turn. Perhaps there would be a way around that though. The diplomacy in such a game would be sweet.

Perhaps multi player games on mini campaign maps? I'd wager a mp game wouldn't be so cumbersome if there were only maps of say 4 players 16 provinces or at most 8 players with 32-40 provinces

Acctually they can create easily multi player campaign but the Creative assebmely totally rejected the idea on Rome total war,
I would love if it where possible to play campaing in MTW2 , it would be great fun and a challange
According to them I would take a awful of time until it was your turn again, You have to sit and wait for the other players to make their moves,
But thats not really an issue for them right , isnt it up to the player to decide if he/she wants to play or not, I mean if you find it boring then don't play campaing mode or the opposite,

Its not the same thing , you can't compare Total war series with Europa Universalis, Its isn't build in the same way,
I think Rom Total war has better graphics and is much more realistic then Europa Universalis,
Can you inform me more about Hearts of Iron,
