Topic: Map and Date Quiz. Posted: 12-Dec-2004 at 11:31 |
I'd like to begin a game where I challenge my AE Forum members to guess the date of a given map that I post. I will keep track of those who are the first to guess them. Also, I'll accept the century that the Map dates from as a right answer. Good luck I hope this will be fun.

Well, giving a link to a file on your harddisc won't get us started.

You should not feel the need to cheat, I purposely began this quiz with a easy question. It really isn't that hard, in fact there is a pretty obvious clue on the map if you know your medieval history. Also, if no one gets it in a couple of days I'll start to give out clues. Just guess and I'll tell you if you are close. And thank you for moving it to a more appropriate destination.

Cheat? The link goes to your harddisc which means no one can see it. You need to put the picture on a server and link to that.

Only you can see the map - you have to upload the map to a server... for that go to www.imageshack.us

You're are right it is actually 814. I'll post a new map tommorrow and promise it will be much harder. I'll ask you to guess the time period within a couple of decades. For right now, one for Janus Rook.

For map 2 I'd like you to quess the date within a decade of the actual date. If no one gets in in 5 days I'll give you a clue.
Also, please let me know if you cannot see the image.

By the gods I am irritated by people writing u's like v. So what if the Roman u looked like a v; it doesn't in the modern alphabeth. I don't use funny-looking runes when writing old names or places

After the partition of Armenia (387 AD) and before the death of Theodosius (395 AD) and the split of Rome into Eastern and Western empires.

That's correct!!! Good for you. Maybe this is too easy. I'll post a new map as soon as I can. And I'll retain the 10 years as my acceptable time span.
