BLOP! to you all and welcome in Caf Rene aka AE.
No I'm not trolling, you foooooooooool, don't you see that me and Yvette
and Maria are trying to see if there are any other fan of the funniest thing
English TV ever produced (with Monthy P).
I recommend it to you all (even if it is the worst thing that happen to
French national pride since Trafalgar) for you to understand how to put a
Van Clump in a saussage, how to pool birds with a mini-tank and what
Gestapo panties really were (essential isn't it?).
Bye.
PS: Now on DVD.

I'm so pissed off they've never had the guts to show it on French TV. I saw
it first in Porto. God it was so funny, it is the one and only good memory I
have from this town (with my mother in law bacalho com natas).
E melhor que nada

I heard the BBC tried to sell it at the time but no other country would buy it because they thought it bad taste to make a mockery of wwii.

According to my friends it was on TV at least in Portugal, Turkey and the
Hetherland. Well, two of them were off WWII and the Dutch are not
famous for their good taste (p. e. flashy orange shorts on the Genoese
Riviera makes me wish duke of Alba wasn't dead).
DVD of season 1 and 2 are released, ever heard of the rest?
Bye. Unleach the ognion seallers.

I remember "Allo allo" from some years ago, 6 i think, when i was little and it was on Estonian television. Please don't compare it to Monty Python. Monty Python is a classic of skill and expertise - finesse.

"Allo Allo" is funny to some extent, but after seeing more than 2 episodes you know "every bloody sketch".

"Listen to me carefully, i will say this only once." How many times can you laugh at that, i couldn't manage to after hearing it twice i think.

"Flashin nobs". Well thats good, a tad.

"Shut up you old bat." That is pretty good too. Calling elderly people mean names has become nice comedy over the years which i appreciate.

But the "old bat" of a lady pissed me off, just as Sophia in "Golden girls"

"Allo Allo" is worth the watch because it has a fast pace of action and such, but it ends there for me. The sketches are OVERPLAYED in every damn episode. Like cheap theater in a way. I just couldn't, and can't stand people who laugh at "Allo Allo" every single episode, and i was like 11 or 12 when it was aired.

Benny Hill and Monty for me any time. Or Al Bundy, even Golden girls i must confess.

I hope i haven't offended any proud comedy radical French or Brittish spirit here, never ment to, just my opinion.
There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible than a man in the depths of an ether binge...

Strange.
Nowadays the Dutch and the Belgians run it again and again and again while its all but disappeared from British TV.

It was rather silly, but lighthearted fun. The books are a laugh too.

Great series.

My surname actually rhymes with "(von) Flick", so you can imagine the endless hours of fun I had when I lived in the UK and "allo, allo" was still running.
Don't really know why it was never on German TV.
