My research tells me that most women in the defense industry, of the day, wore similar clothing to men ie. jeans and cotton shirts and or overalls...which incedently we still see and now suffer from today, as a by product.
Which is to say a a loss of women id'ing as women.
Worse they starting cutting their hair short even more so than that of roaring 20's flapper look.
Most likely the feminazi's of today revel in such.
Gawddamn shame.
