In Medieval times ,religion was the main criterium for the analysis of the everyday life.Religious ethics  replaced the Ancient Philosophical thought or incorporated  it into the Body of the Church and in the teachings of the Holy fathers. In the dawn of the Renaissance ,religion ,and more specifically the authoritatian religion in Europe, whose representative was the Pope of Rome, started to lose soil and finally was shaked thanks to the Reformation.Religious ethics was now questioned by scientists, philosophers and even the common people who were seeing priests or higher clerks to violate the word of God,the very same Word they were preaching and to support  the Head of  the State,Monarchy, the ultimate institution, whose policies were scrictly favouring the nobles and ,generally, those who had the nessecary money ,while they abandoned the poor, the biggest part of the population ,to their misery and ,sometimes,to their hunger. That resulted to the emerge of ideology, who firstly appeared in a massive level during the French Revolution  and  became a vital part  in peoples conversations and thoughts during the Industrial Revolution and afterwards

.Ideology reached its peak during the Bolshevik Revolution on October 1917,where it replaced religion and the world it represented for centuries, as the main criterium for the analysis of politics and society. Its very characteristic the fact that,World War I (1914-18 ) was not only an economical war,but also ,in a political level,it was the collision between the Democratic Forces ,the Entente, and the authoritarian rule ,the Imperial Block.

World War I was also the starting point that led to the ultimate ideological collision of World War II (1939-45) ,where 3 ideologies were thrown to the fight of world domination :Capitalism-Democracy, Fascism-National Socialism , Communism Peoples Democracy. At the end of World War II,2 new worlds emerged from the ruins of destruction : The so-called Free-World ,the Western Block consisted by the Western European States and others ,like Japan South Korea,Taiwan,Hellas,Turkey etc, with the United States of America as leader  and the so-called Red World, the countries that had signed the Warsaw Pact such as the Eastern European States and others ,like China,Cuba,Vietnam,North Korea etc, with the United Soviet Socialist Republics-the USSR as leader. The era where the entire planet was divided into these 2 Blocks or in areas of influence of those 2 Blocks is known as the Cold War.The invention of the nuclear weapons, starting in 1945 with the drop of the 2 American atomic bombs in Japan , created a balance between the 2 adversaries and their ideologies.Of course, the ideological wars continued to happen at every field : North Korea,Vietnam, Cuban insident ,Hellenic Civil War (1944-49 ),but not at the same level with World War II,due to existence of the nuclear weapons,as previously stated. In the 50s and 60s ,leftists were demonstrating and fighting for more leftist policies ,policies that will bring social wellfare and make poverty disappear .For example, the French May of 1968 which, although started by an unimportant incident,it became a demonstration of the class collision . It was this time that ideology was institued.

Until the 70s ,religion did not seem to have any strenght to re-emerge in the old status quo, where it played vital ,if not the most fundamental ,role in peoples lives. The Soviet Invasion in Afganistan, awaken the religious feelings of another world, the Middle Eastern World, which ,until that time ,was in constant collision with Israel and ,secondarily, with Judaism without having any worth noticing influence in the rest of the planet.

The Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 ,announced the Fall of Ideology, and with it the Fall of Ideologic Ethics.A huge gap was now created ,which Religion exploited very well in order to regain its prestige. The Middle Eastern World became now,the Muslim-Islamic World,a world underdeveloped and way behind in terms of science and democracy ,according to the West.Islamic terrorism  started to massively emerge, while in the West Religious conservatism took control of  very important govermental posts and extremely conservative religious groups ,such as the Evangelists in the USA,became extremely influencing. The Yugoslav wars are a very dynamic example ,where the use of religious violence in such an extent  (Serbian Orthodox ,Bosnian Muslims) reappeared  after so many centuries in European Soil. The American attacks in Afganistan and Iraq  after 9/11 and the continuous Israeli-Palestinian collition ,fed Islamic terrorism with new motives while it gave the opportunity to the West to adopt new and more conservative policies.

My question is ,where will this religious conservatism lead us to,and whether ideology will play again a very important role in the near future.
