What about the rape within marriage?
 
Until 1992 husbands in the UK were enjoying 'legal rape', since law did not prohibit man to rape his wife.
 
as horrible as it is, there is a great number of woman and men who fantasize about rape.. Maybe you should have posted this thread at this forum rather than a history forum and see their reactions:  www.rapeboard.com
 
Personally I find rape one of the most horrible crimes. When you rape someone, you might even steal her or his soul, for afterwards she or he will constantly feel self being ''dirty''.
 
Rape has two dimensions: as a form of sex and as a form of daominating the other person. The latter is usally forgetten even tough in most of the rape cases it outnumbers. Most of the men who rape other men are not homsexuals but straight as much as you are , but driven by a desire to dominate and probably  punish other man.
 
One important point to bear in mind ratehr than stranger rape, the overwhelming rape type is date rape, which implies that the agressor is familiar to victim. Even tough it is hard to recognize a potential rapist, I would sugegst women to stay away or at least put an end their friendship with people, who usually call women by dirty names like b...ch, lacks of showing empathy even in tragic situations of daily life, has a background of sexual abuse as a child, blame women for the problems of the world..these are the features of a potential rapist.

In a court case in the mid 90s, a Victorian judge upheld a 17th century English law which ruled a man could have sex with his wife even if she were unwillng. We had no original Australian law to judge by, and the case concerned a man who had raped his wife. The public was outraged, a new law was rushed through parliament in about a week, extremely quick for the passing of a new law.

Really? I find this a bit surprising, just wondering where you may have read or heard this.

Well, that's when D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes an option. Women do not have to be subjected to rape in any way, shape, or form. Being legally married does not give her husband the right to sexually and/or physically abuse her, so the next alternative would be to divorce him.
