Dixie, the co. that makes "Dixie Cups" and disposable paper plates is among a group of co,s that are sponsoring a movement to turn off all cell phones and other devices, for a 2 hour period, this sunday eve. [6/21].
The idea being that Sunday eve dinner should be for family discussions or just connecting with close others.
I would like to see this become a weekly tradition.
I'd like to hear what you folks think about this.
"Arguing with someone who hates you or your ideas, is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter what move you make, your opponent will walk all over the board and scramble the pieces".
Unknown.
Imposition of patriarchal Christian ideals that are long outmoded.
No mobile devices at the dinner table on whatever day, or even no mobile devices whilst eating, or talking to others, would be a better ideal. There seems no etiquette rules surrounding the new technology - a symbol of how quickly it has spread.
